How Were Bicycles Invented?

I recently served as host of PBS’s Innovation TV show Make48! During that experience I was able to interact with engineers and product designers from Trek Bicycle. It was so cool to learn about all of the innovation that goes into creating bicycles and bike share stations.

This experience along with my personal love for bicycle riding is why I was so excited to answer the Mystery Science question: How were bicycles invented?
